1st and 2nd Grade News 11-20-09 Hello all 1st and 2nd grade friends and families, here is a peek at what we have been up to for the past few weeks. Academic updates: Bible: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob “Family Tree” In Bible we have been focusing on the promises God made to Abraham and to his descendents. Memory selection will be from Colossians until Christmas break. Important Info: Next Week SPIRIT WEEK: Classroom Needs:
Dear 1st and 2nd Grade Families, Thank you all so very much for the donation items for the New Life Pregnancy Center, and to the Otsego County Animal Shelter. These two organizations were so blessed by your giving spirit, and the giving spirit of your students. One more thank you is due...to all of the moms who made Friday's Harvest Party so wonderful for the students. They loved it!!!! From the students and I we just want to say "THANK YOU"!
1st and 2nd Grade Notes: The kids did a fantastic job at Grandparent’s Day, I am so proud to be their teacher. I was so impressed at how well they can sing and perform in front of an audience, I think I might just take your kids on the road! Well we have been super busy these past 8 weeks of school. Friday October 30th is the last day of the 1st quarter, be on the look out for report cards the first week of November. **Remember Conferences are Friday, November 6th.** The sign up sheet for conferences is outside of my door, if you need a different day or time just let me know and I can meet with you on a better day or time that works for you. Reminders: *Animal Shelter and Pregnancy Resource Center service project items need to be at school by Friday 10-30-09. The crib and dog kennel are getting full, let’s make them over flow! *Harvest Party Friday October 30th. Kris Gahm is heading this up, we will be making a craft and having a special treat, if you would like to help out, let myself or Kris know. *We have had a few illnesses in our room lately, the kids and I have talked about what to do at school when you are sick, (get to a waste basket or toilet FAST). Remind your child to wash their hands often, and keep their desk area clean and neat, (makes it easier for myself and Mrs. Kuipers to wash throughout the day). *Classroom needs: Bulk snacks for P.M. group snack, Clorox wipes, paper towels and napkins. Have a Super Day,
Mrs. Q
